Questions and Answers

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Lennox?

You do not require a referral to see Dr. Lennox for a consultation for cosmetic surgery. Any patient may schedule an appointment by telephoning our office at (604) 876-6552.

Is Dr. Lennox board certified?

Dr. Lennox is certified in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

How much is a consultation?

The fee for a consultation is $175 + GST.

How long does it take to get an appointment for surgery after the consultation?

Cosmetic procedures can usually be booked within four to six weeks of seeing Dr. Lennox.

Where is the surgery performed?

Dr. Lennox performs the majority of his cosmetic surgical procedures at an onsite, fully-accredited, state-of-the-art private surgical facility: Vancouver Plastic Surgery Centre. He also operates at Cambie Surgery Centre, and operates and has full privileges at Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital.

Who performs the anaesthesia?

You will be taken care of by an anaesthesiologist who is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is an expert in his/her field. Prior to your surgery, you will have the opportunity to meet with your anaesthesiologist to discuss any concerns and address any questions you may have.

What kind of anaesthesia will be used?

Each surgical procedure carries a different level of discomfort, and requires a different level of anaesthesia. Minor surgeries may be performed under local anaesthetic while more invasive procedures typically require general anaesthesia. Dr. Lennox and your anaesthesiologist will discuss the types of anaesthesia with you at the time of your consultation.

Will I need to stay overnight?

Most cosmetic surgical procedures are done on an outpatient basis. In some cases, usually if the surgery is quite extensive, an overnight stay may be required.

Will I need someone to take care of me after surgery?

Following surgery, in most cases you will require a responsible adult to escort you from the surgical facility and to remain with you for the first several hours.

Who will be on call following my surgery?

Post-surgery, you will be provided with Dr. Lennox's pager number. Should you require assistance, he will usually be available to you. If for some reason you are not able to contact him, you will also be provided with contact information for one of his colleagues within the University of British Columbia plastic surgery group.

Do you finance or offer payment plans?

In addition to cash, certified cheque, or debit cards, we accept VISA and MasterCard. Dr. Lennox's patient coordinator can also provide you with details of available third party financing companies.

How long will the results of my cosmetic surgery last?

For many procedures, the results can last for years, as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle (including a balanced diet, regular exercise, maintenance of a stable weight, minimal sun exposure, and no smoking).
